Freeware featured on this site was commonly built out of necessity for consulting customers.  Often a weekend project in order to solve a problem or provide basic functionality, as opposed to buying an expensive commercial offering - in that same spirit the software is offered for free.  Through the popularity gained by direct downloads, technology bloggers, and shareware site listings I and have made custom versions or released updates based on customer feedback from around the globe.

End of Life Software
Owner
Lake Zurich, IL
Started in 2007

End of Life Software provides a secure information release mechanism after a person's untimely death.  Customers include VIPs, executives, children, and IT system administrators.  Upon death, or lack of timely and accurate code entry, pre-determined associates are automatically sent emails with pertinent information.  The software has proved invaluable to high-profile/security conscious people and can be a deterrent or life-saver in kidnapping situations.  Currently in closed beta, a new version will be released to the public in the later half of 2010.
